The Counselling House
We are a Central London private psychology practice specialising in supporting adult individuals during crises and life changes. Informed by positive psychology, we explore whether difficult times can ultimately be seen as life enhancing, even if this is not currently apparent. In this way we see our work as facilitating transformation and the adaptation to new life situations, and accompanying clients on a part of their life journey.
We offer face-to-face, on-line or telephone counselling and psychotherapy, as well as preventive and acute stress management. In terms of method, we try to integrate the most widely known and proven effective ways, basing the work on psychodynamic approaches or cognitive and Jungian ideas.
Our aim is to alleviate suffering and issues we address include:
- anxiety
- bereavement (inc. animal bereavement) and other loss
- cultural issues
- depression
- health issues
- relationship difficulties
- identity issues
- self esteem
- sexuality
- sleep problems
- stress
- feelings of meaninglessness
- work/career related issues
- retirement & meaning in later life
